Questions and answers about Rutinerad
Here you will find everything you need to know to get started and create a calmer everyday life for the whole family.
You can try Rutinerad completely free for the first two weeks. After that, a subscription is required to continue using the service. You can cancel your subscription at any time without a binding period.
We offer a wide library of pictograms, but you can also personalize routines by generating unique AI images directly in the app (via the icon next to the name), taking your own photos with the camera, or uploading images directly from your device.
Yes! You can invite a partner as a co-parent to manage routines together. Children connect via their own view where they see and check off tasks, but they cannot change or delete anything themselves. Only the main account needs an active subscription – all invited family members connect completely free.
With the Basic subscription, you can connect up to two children, and with Premium, you have an unlimited number of child profiles. Each child pairs their own device with the app and then gets their personal view with their routines and reward pot. If the child does not have their own device, you as a parent can easily switch to the child's view directly in the parent app.
Rutinerad works on both iOS and Android, including smartphones and tablets (iPad/Android tablets). Everything is synchronized in real-time so that both adults and children see the same updated information on their own devices.
You can motivate children with both automatic allowance and individual rewards. You choose whether the money is paid out based on all routines or only selected tasks. The pot is filled automatically when the child checks off their goals. If you don't want to link money to routines, you can instead choose screen time as a reward type – the child then earns minutes instead of money.
Extra tasks are one-time tasks or recurring chores (such as Clean the room). You choose whether these should be sent for approval by an adult before the reward is added to the child's pot.
Yes, the app has a dedicated child view that is calm, clear, and easy to navigate. You can choose between standard view, visual support, or a simplified mode entirely based on your child's specific needs.
Yes, Rutinerad is specially developed to function as cognitive support. By using clear visual support, minimizing distractions, and breaking down the day into manageable steps, the app helps children with neurodevelopmental disorders to create predictability, reduce stress during transitions, and increase independence in everyday life.
Rutinerad requires an internet connection to synchronize data between different devices in real-time, so that everyone sees when a routine has been completed or a reward has been approved.
You can easily manage and cancel your subscription via the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Store (Android). You retain full access to all features until your current billing period expires.
Children don't need a password or email address. You invite the child directly from the app: go to the child's profile and select Invite child. There you'll get a six-digit code and a QR code. The child opens the app on their device, scans the QR code with the camera – or enters the code manually – and is logged in. The code is single-use and you can see immediately when the child has connected.
Yes, you can add a timer and/or a checklist to any task – or both.
With a timer, you set how long the task should take (minutes and seconds). The child starts the countdown with a tap, the screen stays on throughout the timer, and when it's done a sound plays and the task is marked as complete.
With a checklist, you add multiple sub-steps to a task – for example Wash hands, Brush teeth, Put on pajamas. The child checks off each step and cannot mark the task as done until everything is ticked.
If a task has both a timer and a checklist, the timer is displayed compactly above the checklist – the child works through both in order.
Yes! Under My routines in the app, you can create routine groups and tasks for yourself – completely separate from the children's routines. It works exactly the same way: you choose which days and times the routine applies, check off tasks during the day, and can use timers and checklists just like the children. The child's view is not affected. If you have an invited partner, they can also have their own routines.
