Change for football

Five-thirty is departure and at 17:42 the shin guards have vanished. The visual support below gives the child a fixed order for the football kit, so there is less rummaging in the hallway and more spare seconds in the car.

About this visual support

Few weekdays are as tight as football-practice days. Between snack and departure the child has to find, put on and pack four or five items that need to sit just right – guards under the socks, shirt over everything. It is the order that breaks down under stress, not the items themselves.

The visual support gives the child a steady reference that does not shift with your tone or energy. They can follow the same four or five frames even when the kitchen clock shows three minutes lost on one missing sock. A football-specific tip: tuck the shin guards inside the socks the evening before, so the child skips the moment where the guard ends up outside and has to come off again.

In Routined you can also add a short timer to each step, so they see both the picture and how much time is left. The whole setup is free to try for 14 days.
