Charging the smartwatch is one of those tasks that barely feels like a task. It takes ten seconds, gives no visible reward and is therefore easily forgotten, right up until the watch is dead the next morning and an alarm or activity tracker is not there.

Visual support catches exactly that kind of invisible step. When charging has its own picture in the evening sequence, it becomes as obvious as brushing teeth, not something to remember but something you simply do. The picture takes over the remembering, so the child does not have to hold it in their head.

A tip: tie the charging to a place rather than a time, for example that the watch is always charged by the bed. A fixed place makes the step show up on its own when the child is there anyway.
