When brushing does not work it is often about the equipment rather than the will. The mouth is one of the body's most sensitive areas, and the difference between soft and medium bristles can be the difference between brushing for two minutes and not being able to at all. The same goes for size: a large head touches more surface at once, and for a child sensitive in the mouth that is too much information at a time.
