Extra task
You ask for one thing that is not on the schedule, and the question comes back at once: does this one count? The visual support below gives the task a visible place, an ending and a star that shows the effort was seen.

About this visual support
Anything outside the usual list is missing two things the routines already have: proof that it counts, and a point where it stops. A child asked to do something extra has no idea how much is coming, and that uncertainty is usually what creates the resistance, not the job itself.
One picture solves both at once. The task gets a card of its own, placed visibly next to the day's other steps, and once it is done the card gets ticked like everything else. The star makes the effort count, the tick makes it finished. Put the card at eye level and take it down the moment the task is complete, so the difference between in progress and done stays obvious even for a child who struggles to hold several things in mind at the same time.
The pictures below are free to download. In Routined you can drop an extra task into the day's routine whenever one comes up, tick it off and let your child see the star. The app is free to try for 14 days.
