Change diaper
The brief time on the changing table asks a child to lie still while accepting something cold and wet on the belly. The visuals below show the four or five steps, so they can follow along from the first strap to the last snap.

About this visual support
On the changing table, two opposite needs meet: the adult's need for the child to lie still, and the child's need to move. Add a wipe that is a few degrees too cold against the belly, and you have a setup that often ends in kicks and tears. The pictures give the child something to anchor their eyes on, which softens the cold surprise.
When a child sees the picture of the wipe before it touches the skin, the brain gets a second to brace. The same goes for the snaps on the diaper – if the image shows a lifted leg, many children lift it themselves. A concrete idea: warm the wipe between your palms while the child looks at the picture, so you defuse the sensory jolt without needing a separate warmer.
With Routined you can photograph your family's actual changing spot and build the steps into the app, turning every change into a familiar sequence. There is a 14-day trial.
