Visit the nurse
A visit to the school nurse or the health centre is short, but the room is unfamiliar and your child does not quite know what will happen. The visual support below helps your child prepare before it is time.

About this visual support
What worries a child before a nurse visit is rarely the check-up itself. It is the uncertainty: who will be there, will it hurt, and how long will it take. A child who does not know the answers often fills the gaps with the worst they can imagine, and then an ordinary health check can feel like a big deal the day before.
Visual support gives the visit a shape. The picture of the nurse shows who your child is going to meet, and you can add pictures for what usually happens, such as weighing, measuring, an eye test or an injection. When your child can see the steps in advance, it becomes easier to ask about the parts that feel hard, and you get the chance to answer calmly at home instead of in the waiting room.
One tip is to go through the pictures the evening before and then bring them along. Point to the step you are on and show what comes after, such as going back to class or getting an ice cream. A clear ending makes the middle easier to cope with. If you want the visit in the week's schedule with a reminder, you can add it in Routined and try the app for 14 days at no cost.
