Many schools use tablets in lessons, and at home the tablet often comes along on trips and visits to grandparents. The trouble is that it rarely lives where the bag does. It is charging by the sofa, lying on the bed or has ended up with a sibling. When packing happens at the last minute in the morning, the tablet is easily forgotten, or it comes along with a flat battery.
Turn packing into two small steps. First the tablet goes on charge in a fixed spot the evening before, ideally near the front door or the school bag. Then it goes into its case and into the bag in the morning. The picture of the child packing the tablet shows the second step, and a separate picture of the charger can show the first. Together they form a little chain your child can follow on their own.
Also check that the charging cable and headphones come along when needed, especially for longer journeys. A case with its own pocket for the cable makes it easier to keep everything together. If the tablet is only for school, the picture can live in the school routine, and if it is for travel, in the packing list before departure.
