Put on jacket and backpack
The front door is where the last minutes of the morning pile up: one more layer against the skin, a zip that has to find its track, a backpack that has to sit. The visual support below breaks it into steps.

About this visual support
The hallway is where the morning gets crowded. Everything that is left has to happen in two minutes, often with someone already outside waiting, and right then the child also has to tolerate an extra layer of fabric against arms and neck. The rush and the clothing arrive at the same moment.
Visual support gives the hallway an order that does not have to be repeated out loud every day: jacket on, zip up, backpack on both shoulders, shoes. When the row sits on the wall at the child's height it can be read on the move, and anyone who gets stuck can step back one picture without a raised voice.
Practise the zip on a calm afternoon rather than in the doorway, with the jacket on the child's lap so the slider is visible from the front. It is a movement where two hands do different things, and it does not get learned under time pressure. With the Routined app the hallway routine can sit ready with pictures and get ticked off before you leave.
