Put on pyjamas or activewear

The question is rarely about fabric. Behind the choice between pyjamas and activewear sits the question of whether the evening becomes movement or sofa, and who gets to decide that. The pictures below put both paths side by side.

About this visual support

Which garment ends up on the body decides the rest of the evening. Pyjamas say the day is over; activewear says something is still going to happen first. Children feel that difference long before they can explain it, which is why an apparently small clothing decision sometimes turns into a negotiation about the whole evening.

Two pictures beside each other keep the negotiation short. Instead of an open question there is a choice between two visible options that are both fine with you, and the child gets to decide something real. Here the visual support works less like an instruction and more like a menu.

Link each picture to what follows it: the activewear card gets the hallway and the bike next to it, the pyjama card gets the toothbrush and the book. Then the child is choosing an evening rather than a garment. In the Routined app you can build two alternative evening routines and let the choice decide which one is shown.
