Get dressed for exercise
Workout clothes tell the body that something is about to happen, but the way there runs through socks, shorts and shoes in a particular order. The steps below hold the change of clothes together, so the spark turns into a session instead of fading in the hallway.

About this visual support
The urge to move is strongest the moment it appears, and that is exactly when getting changed has to happen. Workout clothes still follow their own logic: socks before shoes, shorts before shoes, and a top you can swing your arms in. Get stuck at a single link in that chain, and the enthusiasm has usually drained away before the front door is even open.
Visual support lets the shift from sofa to activity take up space without becoming a negotiation. Your child sees the whole change at once and can keep their own pace instead of waiting for the next spoken instruction. For workout clothes in particular, it helps to stack the garments in the same order as the pictures, ideally the night before. Then the card and the pile become one map, and nobody has to hunt for the second sock once the shoes are already on.
If the routine should travel to practice with you, you can build it in the Routined app and try it for fourteen days at no cost. The pictures here are free to download.
