Put on football kit

#football#kit#getting dressed#training#sports

Match kit has an order that cannot be fixed afterwards: if the socks go on before the shin pads, everything comes off again. The steps below show the sequence in the order it actually happens, from shorts to shirt.

About this visual support

Football kit is one of the few dressing routines where the order has real consequences. The shin pads go under the socks, the socks over them, and if it happens the other way round no adjustment afterwards will save it: everything comes off and goes back on. On the way to a match there is rarely time for that round trip.

That is exactly why visual support fits here. A numbered row, shorts, shin pads, socks, shirt, boots, turns the sequence into something the child can check alone instead of being told about. After a few times the order settles in the body, and the pictures stay for the days when the head is somewhere else.

Lay the kit out in the order the pictures show, in a pile with the first item on top. Then the pile and the row agree with each other and nothing has to be hunted for. Routined can hold match day dressing as its own routine with pictures, so the same order applies even when someone else is doing the driving.
