Car home and sleep
Three changes in a row, from car to home to bed, give three chances to lose focus. A chain of pictures shows the whole path in advance so a child knows where they are heading. Follow the steps below at a calm pace.

A sequence: a car, a house, and a child sleeping in bed.
About this visual support
Getting home late in the evening is rarely a single step. It is a chain: out of the car seat, in through the door, off with outdoor clothes and finally down into bed. Every seam between the moments is a place where a tired brain can snag, and then the path to night turns bumpy.
Visual support ties the chain together. When the child sees the three stations as a sequence, car, home and bed, the destination is clear already in the car. Instead of a string of surprises, the evening becomes a route that is already mapped out, and you no longer have to explain each change anew.
A tip: point at the next picture just before the change happens, while you are still in the previous moment. That small warning gives the brain time to switch over, which is harder to do on the spot if the change comes suddenly. In the Routined app you can place the stations in the right order and let the child check them off one by one, all the way to lights out.
