Shop for mom
Going to the store for mom puts a grown-up responsibility on small shoulders: remember the items, find them on the shelves and count out the money. The steps below carry the whole errand so memory does not have to do it all.

About this visual support
An errand of one's own to the store is one of the first truly grown-up tasks a child is handed. It is not just about going there, but about carrying a list in the head, recognising the right item among twenty similar ones and not losing track of what the change should be. If a child forgets something, it does not show until they are already at the till.
Visual support lifts the list out of the head and onto paper or screen. With the items as pictures, a child can tick off one at a time and see in black and white what is left, so memory is no longer what decides whether the errand succeeds.
A tip that brings security is to put the items in the order they stand in your particular store, milk last because it sits furthest in, so the round becomes a logical path rather than back and forth. Feel free to put the errand in Routined so the picture list rides along in a child's pocket all the way round. The app can be tried free for fourteen days.
