Screen time & breakfast
The phone sits beside the plate and the porridge goes cold while the screen takes all the attention. When there is no clear order, every morning turns into a tug of war — the pictures below show what comes first and what comes after.

About this visual support
Many mornings are less about the food and more about the screen beside it. The phone wins the attention, the fork stops in mid-air, and the half-eaten breakfast is still there when it is time to leave. As long as both things run at once, the food usually loses.
A clear order dissolves the competition, and that order is easier to keep when it can be seen. With visual support you can decide the sequence together: eat first, put the plate away, and then a while with the screen before you go. When your child sees that the screen is coming, just later, putting the phone down gets easier without it feeling like a loss.
One concrete tip: keep the screen card last and turn it face down until the plate is empty, so it becomes a visible receipt that the meal is done. In the Routined app you can put a short timer on the screen time, so it has an ending before it even begins.
