A sense of time works less well when nothing marks where one part ends and the next begins. School does have breaks, but the lessons themselves often blur together for anyone who does not automatically keep track of the timetable. The result is a feeling that the morning will never end, and that feeling affects stamina long before lunch approaches.

Visual support makes the block countable. Four pictures, one per lesson, show how many are left and make the ending visible already in the morning. Seeing two remaining rather than guessing changes how much capacity feels reasonable to put into the lesson under way.

A concrete tip is to mark the breaks in the row, not only the lessons. The break then becomes a target to work towards, which is often enough to get through the last lesson before lunch.
