Friday Movie Night
A movie night on the couch is meant to be relaxing, but for a child wound up after the week it is hard to truly settle and just lie still. The pictures below show the way down into calm, so the body can catch up to where the eyes already are.

About this visual support
The couch, the film and the blanket look like rest, but a child wound up after a long week often has too much energy left in the body to simply sink down. Then the movie night turns restless, the child twists, gets up, lies down again, and the unwinding that was the whole point never arrives.
Visual support helps by making the winding down something concrete instead of a plea to take it easy. When the pictures show the steps toward rest, put on cosy clothes, fetch the blanket, dim the light, start the film, the body gets a path to follow downward. The shift from speed to stillness becomes a series of small actions, and each step lowers the pace a little. The calm does not have to come all at once.
Add one last movement step, like bouncing it off on the floor for a while, right before you sit down. Getting the energy out on purpose makes lying still afterward easier than trying to brake on the spot.
If you want to build a calm way into the movie night with your own pictures and steps, you can do it in the Routined app, so the winding down is as prepared as the film.
