Parkour
Parkour suits children who climb on everything and need to move a lot. Training still has rules, turn-taking and a coach to listen to. Pictures show what happens at the session before you set off. See the visual support below.

About this visual support
Children who leap from the sofa to the armchair and balance on every kerb often feel at home in parkour. The sport is about moving past obstacles with jumps, rolls and climbing, and at children's sessions this happens in a hall with soft blocks and mats. Even so, for a child who finds waiting hard or feels unsure in new groups, the first session can be overwhelming.
The visual support makes training familiar in advance. The pictures show boys vaulting over blocks, a coach guiding a jump and a roll over boxes. Use them to go through the session: get changed, warm up, listen to the coach, wait for your turn, jump and land softly, then cool down and drink water. The picture of the coach helps the child understand who is in charge.
A practical tip is to look at the pictures in the car on the way to the hall and point to them afterwards to talk about what went well. The same order every week builds security. If you want parkour training in the weekly schedule with a reminder to pack the bag, you can try Routined for 14 days at no cost.
